So close, yet soo far....
On my way home from work today, there was a huge accident in the freeway. I think it was a Big Rig that caught on fire. I was so close to the exit, but not close enough. I still had to wait one hour stopped in the freeway.

Taco Soup
I made this soup today. It's really good and spicy! Thanks to Leilani for sharing it on her website.
Taco Soup
optional diced onions
optional meat, preferably fake (TVP!)
1 can Rotel (tomatoes with chilies)
1 can diced tomatoes
3 cans beans (1 each of black, kidney, and pinto)
1 can corn
1 can water, if needed
1 pkg. taco seasoning
optional 1 pkg. Ranch dressing
optional cilantro
Saute onions and ‘meat’. Add all the ingredients, including the juices except for the can of black beans. Unless you like muddy looking soup. Let simmer for 1-2 hours until all the flavors come together. Great for the crockpot!
Garnish with cilantro and serve with a dollop of sourcream, tortilla chips, and/or grated cheese.

Sabbath afternoon walk
We tried to feed the duckies, but some of them did not like the potato bread we took. The little tadpoles did seem to enjoy it.

Our friend Ruthie
Ruthie is in town for her Daddy's funeral(so sorry). She hung out with us on Sabbath and it was great having her around.
Farewell Sabbath!
It was a beautiful day! Tios Leon worked for the Lord for 40 years and this day was a culmination of their hard work for so many years. Thank you God for leading them and helping them be the very best for you! Happy Retirement Tios!
The children's speech
Judy did an awesome job reading the letter to her parents. It was emotional, but she did great.

Adam's first Piano Lesson.
Adam was all excited to begin piano lessons. We just got home and he is already practicing. I hope that the enthusiasm continues.
